The Prodigy


The Prodigy are an English electronic music group from Braintree, Essex, formed by Liam Howlett in 1990. The current members include Liam Howlett, Keith Flint, Leo Crabtree, Rob Holliday and Maxim. Leeroy Thornhill was a member of the band from 1990 to 2000, as was a female dancer and vocalist called Sharky who left the group during their early period. Along with the Chemical Brothers, Fatboy Slim, the Crystal Method and other acts, the Prodigy have been credited as pioneers of the big beat genre, which achieved mainstream popularity in the 1990s and 2000s. Altern-8 is a British rave duo, featuring Mark Archer and Chris Peat. Best known in the early 1990s, their trademark was loud electronic tracks with a heavy bass line. The Chemical Brothers are a British electronic music duo composed of Tom Rowlands and Ed Simons originating in Manchester in 1989. Along with The Prodigy, Fatboy Slim, Orbital and fellow acts, they were pioneers at bringing the big beat genre to the forefront of pop culture. In the UK, they have had five number one albums and 13 top 20 singles, including two number ones. 2 Bad Mice


2 Bad Mice were a breakbeat hardcore group formed in England in 1991, composed of Sean O'Keeffe, Simon Colebrooke, and Rob Playford, the latter the owner of the Moving Shadow record label. 2 Bad Mice were credited as among the first UK hardcore acts to begin incorporating breakbeats into their style. They were a staple on the early to mid 1990s hardcore scene, and were instrumental in the music's steady mutation into jungle/drum and bass. Their two UK Singles Chart successes were "Hold It Down" which reached number 48 in February 1992, and "Bombscare" which reached number 46 in September 1996.
