In Avengers: Endgame when Captain America is going off to return the stones, the rest are expecting him to return. Bucky says his goodbye knowing Steve is not returning to his timeline, a testament to their friendship!
In Captain America: The Winter Soldier, at the post-credit scene where Bucky visits the Smithsonian, the mannequin which carried Steve Roger's old uniform has been removed, indicating that the uniform was never returned to the Smithsonian.
