Government documents released in early 2023 reignited the public's fascination with UFOs and aliens possibly walking among us. For some celebrities, this release of information is old news - they claim to have personally come in contact with extraterrestrials and unexplainable air crafts.
Dan Akroyd's belief in aliens is well known, but the depth of his experiences - including multiple sightings of UFOs and strange phenomena - is truly shocking. The same can be said for Tom DeLonge of Blink-182 and his famous interest in aliens, even going so far as writing multiple songs about the topic.
Some celebrities' encounters may be even more surprising to learn about - especially given the casual way they often drop these stories in interviews.
Fans of punk pop band Blink-182 were hardly surprised when the writer and singer of songs like āAliens Existā confirmed his belief in extraterrestrials in 2015. Tom DeLonge explained to The Hollywood Reporter that he's spent almost 30 years searching for UFOs and aliens.
One such experience came when he and some friends camped out near Area 51 in the Nevada desert. DeLonge claims that at 3 am, voices outside his tent woke him, and moments later, his body felt as though it was brimming with static electricity. He closed his eyes, only to awake three hours later with no memory of the time he lost.
DeLonge also shared his experiences with strange noises waking him out of sleep around four in the morning, resulting in him becoming violently ill.
DeLonge went on to say he has spoken with people who have worked for the government and know that aliens exist, which is why his phone has allegedly been tapped in the past.
Fran Drescher is best known for her iconic role as Fran Fine on the 1990s sitcom The Nanny. In 2012, the actress was speaking with media outlets to promote her television show Happily Divorced, which she based on and produced with her ex-husband Peter Marc Jacobson.
She revealed that not only does she believe in aliens, but she is convinced that both she and Jacobson were abducted by aliens as children.
According to Drescher, she and Jacobson had experiences during junior high in which each was driving with their father when extraterrestrials allegedly abducted them and implanted chips in their hand. The former couple has matching scars on their hands that Drescher believes āprogrammedā them to meet each one another shortly after their alleged abductions.
Kurt Russell is not only an accomplished actor but also a licensed pilot with decades of experience. He was flying into Phoenix on March 13, 1997, when he witnessed and reported what came to be known as the Phoenix Lights.
A V-shaped formation of unknown spacecraft flew north to south through Phoenix at approximately 7 pm. Later, the orbs hovered in the sky and blinked in and out of sight.
If Russell did indeed see the same phenomena now known as the Phoenix Lights, he was likely the first person to do so. Later, an amateur astronomer claimed his telescope picked up the craft, and they were simply airplanes. The National Guard also claimed they were the unidentified objects in the sky, and that they were merely conducting a training exercise.
In a 2005 documentary, Dan Akroyd Unplugged on UFOs, the actor discussed his longtime fascination with and belief in extraterrestrial life visiting us from other planets.
One of Akroyd's alleged encounters occurred in the 1980s when he awoke in the night to a voice urging him to go outside. His wife convinced him to stay in bed, but his experience was verified by thousands of other people who did the same that night.
In 2002, Akroyd was filming a show focused on UFOs for the SyFy Channel when he received a phone call. While on the phone, he noticed a Man in Black standing next to a black SUV. When he turned to look again, the car and man were gone. Just hours later, the television series was shut down completely with no reason given.
Akroyd believes a Man in Black from the government thought they were getting too close to the truth and shut down production.
In a 2021 discussion with Interview magazine, Miley Cyrus told writer Rick Owens about the time a UFO allegedly chased her down. Cyrus was driving with a friend in San Bernadino, CA, when the spacecraft, which she described as a glowing snowplow, decided to follow them.
Cyrus elaborated that her friend and other drivers on the highway seemingly saw the UFO and stopped their vehicles to gawk.
The singer also shared that she made eye contact with the driver of the UFO, and that was more upsetting than the chasing. According to Cyrus, she didn't recover from the shock of the incident for nearly a week.
David Bowie spoke with Creem magazine in 1975 and shared that he worked for a magazine in England several years prior that specialized in aliens and UFOs. According to the Space Oddity singer, he saw multiple unidentifiable objects whizzing through the sky during nightly shifts in an observatory.
Bowie said that certain spacecraft would show up at the same times nightly, seemingly checking in with one another before setting back off into the night.
