Gluten-free options are popping up at restaurants everywhere, and it’s probably because of these G-free celebrities. Getting rid of gluten has become a major food trend in recent years, thanks to the popularity of gluten-free diets. And like popular fad, the origins can probably be traced to the famous people who are gluten free.

Plenty of actors, athletes and musicians have gone wheat-free in recent years. Some of these celebrities have Celiac disease, a condition in which the small intestine cannot process gluten, while others follow a gluten-free lifestyle to keep in shape. One famous talk show host even wrote a book full of gluten-free recipes.

Jessica Alba is one of the most famous people who don’t eat gluten. The Sin City actress reportedly loves to share recipes for healthy and delicious GF foods. Then there’s the gorgeous Victoria's Secret model Miranda Kerr. She loves to eat homemade gluten-free muffins. TV personality Elisabeth Hasselbeck even wrote a gluten-free survival guide entitled The G-Free Diet.

Several famous men are also gluten-free. Ian Somerhalder has shared the ups and downs of his gluten-free diet on Twitter. News commentator Keith Olbermann has Celiac disease and follows a gluten-free diet. Ryan Phillippe has a gluten allergy, so he has eliminated wheat from his diet.

It may seem impossible to give up wheat from your diet, but if these celebs can do it, so can you!
