Composting is an easy way to add nutrient-rich humus to soil, which promotes healthy plant growth and restores depleted soil. It is super easy to make your own compost at home, totally free, and great for the environment. Several famous actors, actresses and musicians compost. Some of these famous people have even advocated to include composting on Hollywood film sets. Composting can be an all-natural, organic alternative to using harmful chemicals to strengthen your soil. It can also help reduce landfill waste, because when you compost, you can usually prevent up to 30% of your outgoing household waste from ever seeing the inside of a garbage can. 

Who is the most famous person who composts? Kristen Bell tops our list. Longtime vegetarian, Kristen Bell, has a compost bin in her front yard. Longtime vegan and environmentalist, Alicia Silverstone, also composts. She said, "I get really excited about the fact that I can eat an artichoke, place all the leaves into my little bucket, put it into the ground, and then it turns into rich soil which then grows my food. I know that might sound weird, but the cycle of life really amazes me."

In 2009, The White House reportedly installed three compost bins, making Barack Obama a celebrity who composts. The Coen Brothers kept the set of their 2009 film, A Serious Man, green. They reportedly were able to compost 74 percent of the set's trash.
