Celebrities Who Took Their Siblings to Awards Shows

Updated October 13, 2018 1.9k views12 items

These lucky celebrity siblings sure are living the good life! Your brother may have given you noogies and hand-me-down jeans, but these famous people treated their brothers and sisters to something way, way, WAY better: the chance to walk the red carpet at an awards show. Check out this list of celebrities who took their siblings to awards shows, and prepare to be jealous.

Several famous actors, actresses, and musicians have brought their siblings as their dates to major events. The Academy Awards, the Grammys, the CFDAs. You name it; they’ve been there. Imagine getting the star treatment just for being born into the right family!

Even though some of these stars have high profile relationships or equally buzzed about beaus, they still chose to skip a date night and in favor of some sibling bonding time. Like Emma Stone, who ditched her boyfriend, Andrew Garfield, and walked the Golden Globes red carpet with her little brother.

Then there’s Angelina Jolie, arguably the most famous person who took their sibling to an awards show. She may also be the most infamous. Jolie brought her brother to the 2000 Academy Awards. She won the Oscar for Best Supporting Actress for her role in Girl, Interrupted that year, but she made headlines when she shared an incestuous kiss with her brother on the red carpet. Guess there’s no sibling rivalry in that family.

Several famous men also brought their siblings to awards shows. Jake Gyllenhaal has taken his sister (a fellow actress), Maggie, to several awards shows and red carpet events, including the 2010 Academy Awards. Ryan Gosling took his sister, Mandi, to the 2007 Academy Awards.

Attending an awards show with your brother or sister sure does beat sitting next to them on the couch while you watch from home. Maybe next year.
