Can you imagine growing up believing that your mom and dad were your real parents, only to find out that everything they told you was a lie? Several famous actors, actresses and musicians were lied to about the identity of their parents. Some of these celebs grew up believing that their grandparents were actually their parents, while others were deceived about their mom and dads' identities completely.

Who is the most famous person who was lied to about their parents? Marilyn Monroe tops our list. Marilyn Monroe never really knew who her dad was, but Martin "Eddie" Mortensen is believed to be her biological father. Todd Rundgren is listed as the father on Liv Tyler's birth certificate. Several famous men were also lied to about their parents. Jack Nicholson was brought up by his grandparents, who he believed to be his parents.
