Anna Nicole Smith's son Daniel died on Sept. 10, 2006 of a lethal combination of Zoloft, Lexapro, and methadone. Daniel Smith's father is Billy Wayne Smith and he was half brother to Dannielynn Birkhead. Tragically, Anna Nicole Smith died less than a year after her son of “combined drug intoxication” associated with sleeping pills. Other famous women who've outlived their children include Mary Tyler Moore, Loretta Lynn and Carol Burnett.
Several famous musicians have also experienced the deaths of their children. Eric Clapton's son Connor died in 1991 when he was just four years old. He tragically fell out of a hotel room window. Marvin Jones' son Marlo passed away on Friday, December 27th. Marlo was Jones' fifth child and his youngest, 6 moths old at the time of his passing.
The NFL wide reciever took to Instagram the following Saturday to announce the loss, writing, "Marlo, the joy that you brought to us everyday, with that smile, and that energy was like heaven on earth... We will always remember you."
His team, the Detroit Lions, also made a statement over twitter offering their condolences to and support for Jones, his wife Jazmyn, and their remaining children: Marvin Jones III (10), Mareon (8), Murrell (4), and Mya Love (3).

Benik Afobe, a professional soccer player from England, experienced tragedy on November 29th of 2019 when he lost his young daughter to a severe infection. The child, two-year-old Amora, had been taken to a hospital for treatment, where she passed surrounded by her family.
The first statement posted by the couple was via The Times' sports writer Henry Winter, who posted to his twitter account on behalf of the family: "It is with an extremely heavy heart that the Afobe family have today confirmed... despite doctors doing absolutely everything that they possibly could, Amora passed away peacefully with the love of her family by her side."

Country singer Granger Smith took to Instagram on June 6, 2019 to deliver the devastating news that he and wife Amber had lost three-year-old son River Kelly following "a tragic accident."
"Amber and I made the decision to say our last goodbyes and donate his organs so that other children will be given a second chance at life," he wrote on Instagram, also asking, "In lieu of flowers or gifts, please send donations to Dell Children’s Medical Center in River’s name. The doctors, nurses and staff have been incredible."
