There is a reason celebrities are celebrities. They possess some kind of talent that rocketed them into fame and fortune. Maybe they’re an amazing athlete, or an actor/actress with dozens of credits to his or her name.
Or their last name is Kardashian.
Whatever the reason, they’re famous, and as it turns out, ocassionally delusional. Because the fact that you’re good at one thing does not automatically mean that you’re good at other things — like singing. But these famous faces decided to leave their comfort zone and branch out into music. While it worked out for a few of them, the others really shouldn’t quit their day job.
If you can dribble a basketball, can you also dabble in rap? If you’re Kobe Bryant — one of the richest athletes of all time — you’ll at least give it a try. In 1998, the Lakers player was part of a rap group called CHEIZAW, which signed to Sony Entertainment. He released one single, “K.O.B.E.,” featuring none other than Tyra Banks — who we’ll get to in a minute — and let’s just say it was a total air ball.

You probably know Jennifer Love Hewitt for her work in I Know What You Did Last Summer and Party Of Five but it turns out that she has a pretty good set of pipes on her, as well. Hewitt kicked off her career acting in commercials, before eventually landing a role on Disney Channel's Kids Incorporated. She went on to perform as a backup singer, and released her first solo album, Love Songs, at the age of 12. Unfortunately, it was only released in Japan.
Hewitt then signed with Atlantic Records and released two albums between 1995 and 1996. Both failed to hit, so she was dropped from the record label. But she kept at it, and signed with Jive Records and released BareNaked in 2002, her only album to chart. It peaked at number 37.

Hey, girl. You want to hear me sing goth love songs? Ryan Gosling thought that his good looks could translate into good music, so he and friend Zach Shields formed a goth group called Dead Man's Bones, which even recorded with the Silverlake Conservatory Children's Choir. Their one and only album came out in 2009, but even with tunes like "My Body's A Zombie For You" and "Flowers Grow Out Of My Grave" the album was dead on arrival.
