Nintendo announced the voice cast for their upcoming Super Mario movie and it's truly wild. There are some cool choices, like Seth Rogen as Donkey Kong or Jack Black as Bowser. But then there's Chris Pratt as Mario. Not only is Chris Pratt pretty un-Mario-like but he doesn't even have a mustache. Would people be interested in the Super Mario movie if they had nailed the casting? Or does this casting misstep serve only bring negative attention? We shall see when the movie comes out in Holiday 2022.
Chris Pratt as Mario
Anya Taylor-Joy as Peach
Charlie Day as Luigi
Jack Black as Bowser
Keegan-Michael Key as Toad
Seth Rogen as Donkey Kong
Fred Armisen as Cranky Kong
Kevin Michael Richardson as Kamek
Sebastian Maniscalco as Spike
Surprise cameos from Charles Martinet
I find it kinda sad that Chris Pratt will probably get paid so much more for voicing Mario ONCE than Charles Martinet did in his entire 25-year tenure as him in every game/toy/promotion/etc.
