Red eyes in real life might be cause for alarm, but in the world of comic books, characters have red eyes all of the time, and they don't seem worried in the slightest. Comic book creators have a lot of freedom, and red eyes are an easy way to reveal insight into a character's personality. With red eyes, it typically means the character is evil, like in the case of Mr. Sinister, Omega Red, and Lobo (though characters like Gambit and Martian Manhunter would prove otherwise). Check out these villains and superheroes who have sported red eyes at some point over the years. Who do you think rocks the look best?
Some of the most dangerous and evil villains in comic book history have been drawn with red eyes. A great example of this is Steppenwolf from DC. His glowing red eyes are often drawn to indicate a sinister motive. From Marvel, we see some heroes with red eyes. It may not technically be his eye, but Cyclops is best known for the red visor he uses to shoot laser beams, so we've included him here, too.
