Comic book movies were literally a joke, thanks in part to Joel Schumacher's take on the Batman franchise in the 1990s. Actors didn't want their names anywhere near a film like this, and the audience saw one too many batnipples to ever take a comic book movie seriously anymore. It wasn't until 2000's X-Men movie came out that actors and movie goers started to reconsider their previous overall judgement on comic book films. Director Bryan Singer took a realistic approach on the popular mutant team that just clicked. Many films followed suit.
Nowadays, you can't go anywhere without being reminded how the comic book industry has taken over the box office. With Marvel's The Avengers having made over a billion dollars, every actor out there wants to get a piece of the comic book movie pie.
Although no comic book film has won an Oscar (yet), that doesn't mean there isn't great acting, writing, special effects, and other elements that make these films great. Here, we are celebrating the best lines coming from a comic book film.
