Any Star Wars fan will remember the first time they saw a lightsaber on the big screen, and they've probably thought about what color lightsaber they would want if they were a Jedi. Signature weapons are one of the most fun things about big blockbuster films. Not everyone can identify with every hero and protagonist, but anyone can imagine themselves holding the hero's side arm.
Listing all of the best movie weapons would be impossible, but there are some that stick in our memories more than others. The coolest movie weapons have to fit a lot of criteria. They must be elegant, practical, and possess a mystique that will make potential enemies soil themselves in fear. These are some of the coolest signature weapons in movie history.

Features: Lightsabers are dangerous energy beams powered by kyber crystals. The blade is made of hot plasma and can easily cut through most materials. Lightsabers are the tools of choice for both Jedi and Sith warriors, who are able to use them to deflect blaster fire.
Drawbacks: Lightsabers can be extremely difficult to handle for non-Force users. Their lack of counterweight makes them unwieldy, and the average person is as likely to chop off their own arms as to do the same to their opponent.

Features: Mjølnir is a magic hammer wielded by Thor, the Asgardian god of thunder. Mjølnir was smelted by Dwarven crafstmen at Nidavellir, and was imbued with a special enchantment that only allows the "worthy" to wield its power.
Drawbacks: Mjølnir can be choosy about whom it deems worthy, even abandoning Thor at times. If Mjølnir doesn't want you to pick it up, there's absolutely nothing you can do about it.

Features: Cap's shield is made of vibranium, a near-indestructible metal largely procured from Wakanda. It's pretty much indestructible - unless your name is Thanos - and can be used both as form of protection and as an offensive tool.
Drawbacks: Captain America's shield is still first and foremost a shield, and it's not really designed to be used offensively by a normal person. Cap's super strength helps him fling the disc around with ease, but that would be a lot harder for the average person to pull off.

Features: Wands are arguably the most important tools in wizarding culture. They can be used in duels, but also serve numerous other functions.
Drawbacks: Wands tend to have a will of their own, which can make them difficult to work with. This is especially true when using a wand that isn't your own, as most wands tend to choose their owners. Even a wand that's been paired with a wizard can backfire if misused, and proper wand usage can often take years of schooling to achieve.
