Remittance's meaning is, "A payment of money sent to a person in another place." This is a list of international remittances. More specifically, these are Top 50 countries that receive the highest worker remittances in the world. Worker remittances and compensation of employees are comprised of the current transfers by migrant workers and wages and salaries earned by nonresident workers. Compensation of employees is the income of migrants who have lived in the host country for less than a year. Undoubtedly India tops this list with the total remittance of $49,255,898,000 in 2009, which is interesting since Philippine remittances are the most well known. Data is in current U.S. dollars.
