In 2006, Underwood graduated magna cum laude from Northeastern State University with a communications degree. Sam Hunt earned an economics degree from The University of Alabama at Birmingham. He spent the first two years of his college career at Middle Tennessee State University where he also played quarterback for the football team.

In 2011, Garth Brooks received his Master's degree from Oklahoma State University. He previously earned an advertising degree from the university in 1985. Other famous country stars with college degrees include Luke Bryan, Trisha Yearwood, and Kenny Chesney.
