Bravo’s Watch What Happens Live has become a talk-show staple since its premiere in 2009. Whether due to Andy Cohen’s abilities as a host, the late-night talk show atmosphere, or the drinking that occurs, it seems like celebrities tend to open up about details they would otherwise keep quiet. By details, we mean illicit substances, sexual experimentation, and celebrity feuds. Many of these shocking revelations come out during the "Plead the Fifth" segment of the talk show. This part of the show features Cohen asking his guest three questions, during which they are only allowed to plead the fifth and skip answering once. It’s very much like Ellen’s games of "Never Have I Ever," except even more revealing.
Bravo has an extensive programming lineup, featuring shows like The Real Housewives franchise, Southern Charm, Million Dollar Listing, Top Chef, and other reality favorites. However, Watch What Happens Live may be the network’s underrated gem, as it’s where we get to really know our favorite celebrities.
Anne Hathaway’s brand isn’t necessarily "stoner." The Oscar-winner is usually portrayed as a hard worker - sometimes to her detriment. Because of this, it may surprise everyone that Hathaway did, in fact, admit to being a bit of a stoner.
During "Plead the Fifth," Andy Cohen brought up a rumored photo of Hathaway with a “massive blunt” before asking, “On a scale from 1-10, how big of a stoner is Anne Hathaway?” Hathaway paused, smiled, and then answered, “I’m not a little one.”
Dennis Quaid revealed that some of his films in the '80s and '90s had a cocaine stipend that would be added atop the already agreed-upon salary. Andy Cohen jumped at this opportunity and decided to ask which film of Quaid's had the highest budget.
After taking a second to think, Quaid revealed the answer: Jaws 3D. Cohen then proceeded to ask, "If you watch that movie now, can you tell?" to which Quaid responded, "Yeah, every frame."
While playing "Plead the Fifth," Oscar-winner Jennifer Lawrence started off strong by confirming that she kissed The Hunger Games co-star Liam Hemsworth when the cameras weren’t rolling. But that’s not where Lawrence’s confessions stopped.
Andy Cohen explained that, while on the show, Susan Sarandon admitted she smoked pot before every awards show except the Oscars. Following that line of thought, Cohen asked if Lawrence had ever smoked before an awards show. Lawrence shared that she smoked before attending the Oscars. When Cohen asked if it was the year Lawrence won for Silver Linings Playbook (and infamously fell on her way to the stage), Lawrence plead the fifth.
Joe Jonas may now be known for singing lead vocals for DNCE, but he initially rose to fame in the 2000s alongside brothers Nick and Kevin in The Jonas Brothers. When Jonas appeared on Watch What Happens Live, Andy Cohen wasted no time getting to the heart of the matter between the brothers by asking, “Which Jo Bro is the most well endowed?”
Nick had also appeared on the show and pleaded the fifth when asked the same question. However, Jonas opted to answer with, “These are Nick’s words and not mine, but he said he was going to say me. So, I’ll say me.”
