If only we could elect a fictional character as president. As business tycoons and professional politician types attempt to make their way to America's top political office, many Americans are left wondering, “Where are my people? Where are the candidates that I could actually get behind?” Here’s a list of fictional characters who have what it takes to serve as Commander in Chief of the United States. Note that all these characters are on current shows and would actually qualify for office. They are all American citizens, at least 35 years old, and live in current times. So although a guy like Jon Snow from Game of Thrones seems to have all the proper qualities of a great American leader, he doesn’t actually fit the parameters.
So what makes a great president anyway? The potential contenders do not have to be political TV characters. However, they must display excellent leadership qualities, with the ability to not only drive a team to success, but to do it with the needs of American citizens in mind.
Imagine Dana Scully (The X-Files), Alicia Florrick (The Good Wife), or Saul Berenson (Homeland) in office. They would be on any list of TV characters who could be president. Although they are flawed (aren’t we all?), they are also hyper-intelligent, honest, brave, hard-working, and have the ability to lead even in the most difficult times.Be sure to do your part and vote up which fictional politicians and current TV characters you think would make a great choice for president.
Tom KirkmanDesignated Survivor
Put in office suddenly without any preparation. On his first day he already handled a domestec crisis in Michigan nand an Internationla crisis with, who else, Iran. And very well I might add.
Even though he would be a reluctant candidate, he has what it takes. :)
