Who says monsters have to be scary? We’re ranking the cutest monsters in Monsters, Inc. and Monsters University. From loveable oafs like James P. Sullivan to wannabe scaremongers Mike Wazowski, Pixar’s Monsters franchise has given us some of the cutest, most original monsters in movie history. Which character do you think is the cutest?

Released in 2001, Monsters Inc. taught us the importance of looking beneath the surface. Sure, these monsters might look scary at first glance, but dig a little deeper and you’ll soon notice how caring, loving, and sweet they really are. The sequel, Monsters University, went even deeper into James and Mike’s backstory, focusing on why the two wanted to become ‘scarers’ in the first place.

Vote up the cutest monsters, and if your favorite monster is missing, go ahead and add them to the list.
