Considering actress Danielle Harris is known as one of the top scream queens in the genre today, it seemed only appropriate to ask her about who SHE thinks belongs on a list of the Top Scream Queens of All Time. The veteran actress with pipes for days dished about some of her favorite genre actresses to see on screen as part of the promotion for See No Evil 2, which pits her against a (supposedly dead) killer already in the morgue in a race for the lives of herself and her friends.Limited to just five actresses (four really, since she had clearly already made the list), the morgue worker with an iron will to stay off the steel slab was asked named four other actresses as long as she could give them in no particular order, leaving the final positions on this list of the top horror genre actresses up to the public so they can have a say in the overall rankings.
One of the stars of the original Nightmare On Elm Street, Langenkamp was the final girl in one of the most iconic horror movies of all time, besting the first Freddy and escaping with her life, if not her sanity.
Added at the author's insistence (as she IS currently at the top of the genre), Harris is the quintessential strong, tough girl in the horror movie. She runs! She swings (POW!)! She SCREAMS! She even acquiesced to being included on the list, but stipulated that she was "gonna go at the bottom".
The timeless queen of psychological terror is probably still best known for her role in Alfred Hitchcock's Psycho where her terror-twisted face left an indelible mark on the movie itself as well as generations of horror actresses yet to come.
Though she wasn't a strictly genre actress, Adrienne Barbeau brought an authentic mix of terror and fear to her roles. In the original version of The Fog- alongside fellow scream queen Janet Leigh- her attempts to keep ghosts from ravaging her small town elevate the movie to classic status, horror or otherwise.
