Action-adventure movies wow audiences with daring chases, imminent danger, and death-defying heroes. They excite and keep us on the edge of our seats. Sometimes, though, these thrills come with a dose of dread and despair. Fans of the biggest action-adventure titles of all time aren't shying away from these dark details. Take Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest, for example, a trader tells Jack Sparrow about the "delicious long pork" he's acquired from a southern island. As we learn later, he's talking about human meat prepared by cannibals. In Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade, Indy dodges a booby trap by assuming a Christian prayer pose. If you look closely, however, you'll see that a spinning blade from the floor would kill a praying Muslim. In 1999's The Mummy, when Rick and company take shots at a bar, it's bad enough that their drinks are watered down, but the real bad news is that the region's water has been turned to blood!

Jack Sparrow Has Syphilis In 'Curse Of The Black Pearl'

    From Redditor u/please-kill-me-69:

In the Pirates of the Caribbean series (2003), Jack Sparrow has a red spot on this jaw. This red spot is a joke between Depp and the makeup department. The red spot is actually supposed to be syphilis, and it gets progressively more noticeable in each film.
