Revisiting Childhood FavoritesLists that dissect and analyze (and possibly ruin) some of the movies and TV you watched over and over and over and over when you were a kid.
Vote up the details you missed the first time around.
One of the most prolific film genres would have to be kids' movies. Family-oriented flicks make up a massive part of the marketplace, and they've been entertaining children around the world for the better part of a century. Whether it's something like The Wizard of Oz or Boss Baby, there's something for everyone in the genre, which is actually pretty dark when you think about it – with dark details in animated movies being surprisingly common.
Think back to some of the kids' movies you watched growing up, and you'll find everything from kidnappings and murder to poisoning and transforming babies into goblins. That's pretty dark, but it's also the central theme of Labyrinth, which is arguably one of the best kids' movies ever made... and then there's The Neverending Story... the list goes on.
Of course, not everything that happens on the screen immediately registers with every viewer. Sometimes, a dark detail emerges after fans take a close look at each scene in a movie and pick them apart, leading to some interesting details. This list highlights some of the more surprisingly dark details fans have noticed in kids' movies.
