"Dark Skies" movie quotes help uncover the mysteries of an apparent alien invasion in the sci-fi horror movie. The film was written and directed by Scott Stewart, who previously wrote and directed "Legion." "Dark Skies" opened in the United States on February 22, 2013.

In "Dark Skies," the quite suburban family home of Daniel and Lacy Barrett (Josh Hamilton and Keri Russell, respectively) is rocked after a series of strange events. First, they are awoken by their home alarm only to find odd stacked objects and their youngest son, Sam (Kadan Rockett), who claims the sandman did it. Oddities follow as hundreds of birds crash into their home spontaneously, they find themselves losing control and memories of their time and bizarre marks appear on their bodies, symbols on Sam's and rashes on their own.

Unable to ignore the paranormal occurrences, Lacy researches the events to learn that these things have happened before in other areas as well as contacts a man, Edwin Pollard (J.K. Simmons), who claims to be an expert on the matter. Edwin explains that they are dealing with an alien invasion and have very little control over what happens next, including that the aliens will soon take son Sam, regardless of their efforts to stop it. This leaves Daniel and Lacy in a scary and powerless position as they try to protect their family from these creatures.

"Dark Skies" joins a winter movie season already jam-packed with hits like "A Glimpse Inside the Mind of Charles Swan III," "Side Effects," "Identity Thief," "Hansel and Gretel: Witch Hunters," "Stand Up Guys," "Warm Bodies," "Bullet to the Head," "Movie 43," "Django Unchained," "Killing Them Softly," "Hitchcock," "Skyfall," "Lincoln," "Flight," "Playing for Keeps," and "Silver Linings Playbook."
