Easter Eggs from Every DC Based Movie

List RulesVote up your favorite easter eggs from DC Comics films!

Easter Eggs are vital for comic book movies to work. There are hundreds of issues of story line to fit into each movie, and there's simply no other way to do it. DC hasn't had as much time as Marvel has, because they've only just begun to build a shared universe, but movies like Man of Steel and The Dark Knight trilogy certainly have some great comic book references.

The absolute best way to please both the die hard comic fans and the casual movie-goer alike is to sneak in these deep geek nods to characters and things that may not directly work on screen. Easter eggs are also a clever way to tie a universe together (and sometimes separate universes in many cases, due to copyright), to foreshadow or to throwback to prior movies without seeming redundant.

Simply put, easter eggs make comic movies better, as long as they don't overdo it and drown viewers in references. So take a peek at some great little moments you may have missed, then re-watch some of these amazing movies in a whole new way!

    Batman - Watchmen

The awesome opening montage is Batman-tastic. Not only are old Batman posters hanging on the wall, but the marquee outside says "Gotham," and the theater is also playing Die Feldermaus (which means "the Bat," and is a play that is also referenced in Batman lore). But the guy Night Owl is punching? That's Joe Chill, would-be assassin of Thomas and Martha Wayne, who happen to be standing in the back.

That's right, the opening to Watchmen prevents Bruce Wayne from ever losing his parents. It prevents Batman.

When Clark is searching the ship under ice, he comes across a pod with a dead body in it – then, another pod, already open and empty. Many fans theorize this as leaving the door... err pod... open for Supergirl in the DC Film Universe.
