It used to be that it was a very rare occasion for fan favorite DC heroes to interact with each other in comic book stories. (Just take a look at how far apart the dates were in the beginning). Nowadays, it seems that a new announcement or teaser for an upcoming DC Comics crossover happens on a monthly basis. But which has been the best crossover in DC Comics history?Â
Many DC crossovers deal with worlds ending and universes colliding like Crisis on Infinite Earths, and DC vs Marvel. Or sometimes it's enormous events occurring in one heroes life that effect the entire DCU like Death of Superman, Knightfall orIdentity Crisis.  There are even epic crossovers so big that they cause an entirely NEW DC universe like 52.
We've collected what we think are some of the best crossover events in DC history. Make sure to vote up all the DC comic book story lines that are your favorite.Â
The Anti-Monitor tries to destroy the DC Universe but succeeds only in merging it into a single universe; numerous characters die, including Supergirl (Kara Zor-El) and the Flash (Barry Allen). Series to spin out of event; Man of Steel, Green Lantern Corps.
Arguably the most iconic/most impactful crossover of all time.(Released: 1985)
An all out war between the living heroes and villains and the Black Lantern Corps. (recruited from dead superheroes) and the DC Universe stemming from the war of light.
Kal-L, the Superman of Earth-Two, and several other characters return to attempt to change the universe for the better. History is altered at the end of the series.
Superman engages in battle with a seemingly unstoppable killing machine named Doomsday in the streets of Metropolis. At the fight's conclusion, both combatants apparently die from their wounds.
The crossover depicted the world's reaction to Superman's death in "Funeral for a Friend," the emergence of four individuals believed to be the "new" Superman, and the eventual return of the original Superman in "Reign of the Supermen!"
When The Flash attempts to change time and save his mother from death, he alters history dramatically. When the events are corrected, universes are joined together (one being the Wildstorm Universe/imprint) in order to repair the damage, leading to The New 52.
