Vote up the details you missed from 'Deadpool 2.'
If there's one thing Ryan Reynolds made sure of when producing the Deadpool films, it was to maintain the feel of the comics and respect the source material. He accomplished both in Deadpool and Deadpool 2 in spades. There are so many small details peppered throughout Deadpool2 it's impossible to catch all of them on your first viewing. From blink-and-you'll-miss-them cameos from some of Hollywood's biggest stars to callbacks to the first film, Deadpool 2 only improves on the Merc With The Mouth's first and iconic outing.
This is a list of the best small details in Deadpool 2. Vote up the details you missed!
In Deadpool 2 there's a drawing of Wolverine tagged "Prisoner 24601" - that's Jean Valjean's prisoner number in Les Miserables, also played by Hugh Jackman.
In Deadpool 2, just after Cable robs the store, the responding police cars are part of the 'Mutant Response Division.' The Mutant Response Division was created by the UN after X-Force stopped an attack on the UN by the Leper Queen. Showing up in Deadpool 2, the timeline is a bit off (since X-force didn't exist yet). The MRD is mentioned in the Avengers universe as Steve Rogers doesn't approve of it.
As we've seen in the first Deadpool and the comics, Wade Wilson really loves the legendary actress Bea Arthur - as evidenced by his Bea Arthur tee shirt in the beginning of the film. In the opening credits of Deadpool 2, you can see "Bea'' engraved into the pommel of one of Deadpool's katanas, the other which is assumed to be engraved with "Arthur." Credit to u/ThatGamingguy99 for pointing out this detail.
In Deadpool 2's "Inside the X-Mansion" deleted scene, there are several velcro nametags on a plate referencing several of the X-men, including one called "Wheels." This is a reference to what Wolverine calls Professor X the first time they meet in X-Men (2000).
