Dark Details Fans Spotted In The 'Deathly Hallows' Movies

Voting Rules

Vote up the darkest details.

The deeper you get into the Harry Potter franchise, the darker the movies get. Compared to the whimsical and lighthearted Sorcerer's Stone, the final two installments-- Deathly Hallow - Part 1 & 2-- are like watching grim, dire dramas. Fans online are certainly aware of this and are pointing out some of their favorite dark details about the films. When the seventh-year wizards come upon the Basilisk, for example, all they find are a husk of bones, the beast having decomposed since its death in Chamber of Secrets. Other details are more subtle. If you look closely during scenes in the Great Hall, you'll notice that there are noticeably fewer students because the muggle-borns have been removed. Even the already dark characters get darker. Keep an eye out for the prison number tattoo Lucius sports on his neck after returning from Azkaban!
