    Dr. Garaki Stole Izuku's Quirk

Growing up without a quirk is a pretty big part of Izuku's character, but according to one theory, this didn't have to be the case. These fans believe that when Izuku visited Dr. Garaki as a child in order to determine whether he had a latent quirk or not, Dr. Garaki stole his quirk and lied about it. Not only would this explain why Izuku is quirkless despite having two parents who aren't, it would also explain the narrative purpose of Dr. Garaki being Izuku's doctor in the first place.

That said, it isn't true. It was recently revealed that the only reason that Izuku was able to take on One For All is that he was quirkless. If he'd ever had any potential for a quirk, that likely would have gotten in the way.

Dabi & Hawks Were Childhood Friends

Dabi & Hawks Were Childhood Friends
    Photo: Bones

For someone who never met Hawks prior to his attempts to join the League of Villains, Dabi sure seemed to know a lot about him. That's why some people thought that they might have been childhood friends. Back when Hawks was being trained as a child hero, Dabi - then known as Toya - could have met him through his father's work as a hero.

This would have been an interesting subplot, but it isn't true. Dabi actually got his Hawks info by threatening his mother, and seemed to know nothing about his background prior to doing so.

    Hagakure Was The Traitor

    Hagakure Was The Traitor

Aside from Kaminari, Hagakure was one of the top U.A. Traitor suspects. While she didn't have any clear motivation to side with All For One, she did have the means. Her invisibility would make it easy for her to avoid detection. While it's true that her clothes don't turn invisible with her, she's been willing to walk around naked before. Besides, she could make a suit out of her hair that would turn invisible, using the same technology that Lemillion did. Not only could she meet up with the League of Villains undetected, she could also potentially send them messages via infrared light.

For a few chapters, it seemed like this theory was going to be confirmed, but her suspicious behavior was soon revealed to be concern about Aoyama - the actual traitor - who she'd noticed was acting off.

All For One Gave Shigaraki Decay

All For One Gave Shigaraki Decay

The idea that All For One gave Shigaraki his Decay quirk is a reasonable one. After all, we know that AFO is fully capable of transferring quirks to people as he pleases, and we certainly wouldn't put it past him to set a child's misery in motion instead of just capitalizing on it.

But once Shigaraki's backstory was revealed, we learned that AFO didn't give him his Decay quirk. Instead, he was born with it. AFO took advantage of Shigaraki's traumatized state after he accidentally unleashed it on his entire family in order to turn him into a villain.

Beast Jeanist Was Turned Into A Nomu

Beast Jeanist Was Turned Into A Nomu

After Hawks presented Dabi with Best Jeanist's body, there was plenty of speculation about whether or not Hawks had actually done away with the Fiber Hero. Many assumed that it was a ruse, but others thought that Hawks was more villainous than he appeared. In fact, some people took things a step further - Best Jeanist didn't just get iced, but was turned into a Nomu by the League of Villains. Bakugo's final battle would have been against a mutated version of his former mentor.

That would have been dramatic, but it turned out not to be the case. Best Jeanist was in the bag that Hawks showed Dabi, but his body was in stasis that made him look deceased. He eventually came out of the stasis and joined the final battle against the League of Villains.

    Kaminari Was The Traitor

    Kaminari Was The Traitor

Before the identity of the U.A. traitor was revealed, fans were busy speculating about who it might be. The most popular suspect was Kaminari. While Kaminari seems like a classically stupid shonen hero, he occasionally reveals surprising knowledge about subjects like literature and philosophy. This hidden dimension to his personality could have been innocuous, but it might have hinted at other secrets.

He also thought Hero Killer Stain was a badass. While it's not uncommon for teens to admire villains, it could have been foreshadowing. What's more, his Communication Earpiece lets him use electrical signals to communicate remotely, giving him the means to surreptitiously pass along information to the League of Villains.

It's understandable that a lot of people thought it could be Kaminari, but the actual traitor turned out to be Yuga Aoyama. After he was born quirkless, his parents offered their services to All For One in exchange for a quirk for their son. Aoyama didn't want to betray his friends at U.A., but he had no choice if he wanted to keep himself and his family safe.
