Deepwater Horizon movie quotes bring the suspense to the disaster film based on the 2010 explosion of the oil rig of the same name and subsequent oil spill. Peter Berg directed the film using a screenplay Matthew Michael Carnahan and Matthew Sand adapted from the book Deepwater Horizon's Final Hours by David Barstow, David Rohde and Stephanie Saul. Based on the true events, Deepwater Horizon opened in theaters on September 30, 2016.

In Deepwater Horizon, Mike Williams (Mark Wahlberg) spends his days working on oil rigs and his leisure time with wife Felicia (Kate Hudson) and daughter Sydney (Stella Allen). While Sydney prepares a presentation about her father's job, Mike heads out to the Deepwater Horizon oil rig in the Gulf of Mexico, the deepest oil well in history.

Along with rig supervisor Donald Vidrine (John Malkovich) and other workers such as Jimmy Harrell (Kurt Russell), Andrea Fleytas (Gina Rodriguez) and Caleb Holloway (Dylan O'Brien), the crew of the Deepwater Horizon crew are nearly done with their drill when tragedy strikes. The drill hits a geyser, spraying mud and methane gas all over the rig, and quickly goes up in flames. Stuck between a burning rig and an ocean also on fire from spilled oil, the crew is faced with dire circumstances as they fight to survive.
