On November 8, 2017, three women accused Schoen of sexual harassment in an online story published by MinnPost. A week later, Minnesota Senate staff member Ellen Anderson alleged that Schoen had sexted her via Snapchat in 2015.
Schoen announced his resignation on November 21, 2017.
