As the 2016-2017 NFL regular season comes to a close, fans are either happy with how their teams did or extremely disappointed with some of their favorite players. Every year, Super Bowl dreams are crushed because of season-ending injuries, bad luck, and of course, disappointing players. Whether it's a top prospect not meeting expectations or last year's MVP letting his team down, this list of the most disappointing NFL players in 2016-2017 includes a mixed bag of trophy winners, first-round picks, and even all-time greats.
2015 MVP Cam Newton was expected to lead his Carolina Panthers to the Super Bowl again, but due to a major drop in his accuracy, last year's NFC champions did not even make the playoffs. Other disappointing quarterbacks include the Houston Texans' Brock Osweiler, who had more interceptions than touchdown passes, and the Jacksonville Jaguars' Blake Bortles, whose stats heavily regressed in 2016.
Vote up who you think was the most disappointing player in the NFL in the 2016-2017 season. The list features the Dallas Cowboys' injury-prone quarterback Tony Romo, 2015 Offensive Rookie of the Year Todd Gurley, and the Arizona Cardinals' aging QB Carson Palmer. If you were let down by any of these NFL players who didn't live up to the hype in 2016, vote them up and hope they don't end up on this list next season.
