Before The Voice rose up and toppled American Idol as America’s favorite singing show, the Simon Cowell-led phenomenon was a cornerstone of prime time television. Besides the snippy Cowell, the other judge positions were taken by Randy “Dawg” Jackson and Paula Abdul. Though Cowell was always the show's star, Abdul garnered her fair share of headlines, including one in 2009 when she gave a bizarre interview with a local Seattle station that clearly shows the pop star intoxicated. She later downplayed the incident to People magazine, blaming bad audio and an overabundance of people talking in her ear at once... right.

When an interview starts with someone shouting “LIVING IN AMERICA,” you know you’re in for quite the experience. Having just been released from jail the day before over allegations of Brown threatening his wife’s life while high, James Brown sat down with CNN to discuss his side of things… or he would have, if he wasn’t high as a kite. It’s unclear what drug Brown is on, but at least he appears to be having a good time. He doesn’t seem to acknowledge the interviewer’s questions, preferring to shout out random song lyrics, but at least he does it all with a smile on his face.

While promoting her new book, former adult film star Jenna Jameson gave a truly bizarre interview to Good Morning New York. Slurring her words and having trouble forming complete sentences, it’s rumored that her initial two-part segment was cut short after just four minutes when producers realized that Jameson was in no state to continue. Later, she told TMZ that she was just exhausted, but that excuse doesn’t explain her odd interview.

One of the most legendary comedians of all time, Richard Pryor was never shy about his struggles with drugs. He openly admitted in 1986 that he got hooked around 1980, the same time as one of his most famous interviews on the set of his new movie Stir Crazy. During the interview, Pryor repeatedly gets off track and spouts nonsensical one-liners. The worst? Either asking the interviewer if he could play with his dick or Pryor straight up telling the interviewer that the movie sucks. Hey, at least he was honest.
