The Death Eaters in the Harry Potter series are well-known in the Wizarding World for being dangerous wizards and Voldemort's supporters. While fans know of Death Eaters like Bellatrix Lestrange, Lucius Malfoy, and Severus Snape, there are a whole lot more of these dark wizards loyal to Voldemort. All of them have their evil moments and it's interesting to see just how low the Death Eaters will actually sink in their antagonism of the heroes.

Unlike most werewolves, Fenrir Greyback relished his lycanthropy and became addicted to the taste of human flesh. In the First Wizarding War, Voldemort realized how useful such a person would be to him and recruited Greyback to savage anyone who opposed him. This means Greyback has more than just one dark moment as he's responsible for attacking everyone from fully grown wizards to children.

In fact, Greyback is the one who bit Remus Lupin as a child, as he took revenge on Remus's father for insulting him by turning his 5-year-old son into a werewolf like him.

Bellatrix Lestrange - Tortured Frank And Alice Longbottom

The list of atrocities committed by Bellatrix may be endless, but it's one of her earlier acts of evil that continues to stand out. This was the capture and torture of the Aurors Alice and Frank Longbottom, whom Bellatrix and her team were convinced knew of Voldemort's whereabouts. To this end, Bellatrix mercilessly used the Cruciatus Curse on the couple while deriving pleasure from the fact that they had a baby boy who would never know his parents.

Bellatrix's torturing was so severe that the Longbottoms were left permanently mentally disabled, to the point where they couldn't even do basic tasks without constant supervision. Bellatrix's unhinged personality was such that she never had any remorse for what she did and went so far as to taunt the Longbottoms' son, Neville, about the fun she had with his parents when she met him over a decade later.

The Carrow Twins - Tortured Students While Teaching At Hogwarts

The Carrow twins thrived on chaos and Voldemort placed them as the new Defense Against the Dark Arts and Muggle Studies teacher at Hogwarts during the Second Wizarding War. Rather than actually teach their subjects, the twins aimed to corrupt students' minds by claiming Muggles deserved to be killed while also looking to normalize the use of Dark Arts.

Those who didn't fall in line were subjected to terrible punishments, which eventually escalated to the point where the Carrows outright used the Cruciatus Curse to torture children. They also recruited students like Crabbe and Goyle to their side to allow them to torture their own classmates.

Although Peter Pettigrew is responsible for bringing Voldemort back for the Second Wizarding War, his greatest act of evil remains the betrayal of his friends. Pettigrew decided to turn on the Order of the Phoenix, joined the Death Eaters as their spy, and saw the opportunity to help Voldemort win when he became the Secret Keeper for James and Lily.

Despite the fact that James had been his best friend since the age of 11 and had trusted him with his life, Pettigrew had no qualms about ratting him out to Voldemort. To this end, the Dark Lord arrived at the Potters' house and proceeded to end their lives, only missing baby Harry thanks to Lily's sacrifice.

Pettigrew added to his dark betrayal when he took the lives of a dozen innocent Muggles on a busy street the next day by casting an explosion curse as a way to frame his other best friend Sirius as the traitor loyal to Voldemort.

Mulciber Jr. - Served As An Imperious Curse Specialist During The First Wizarding War To Torture Wizards And Muggles

One of Voldemort's strategies during the First Wizarding War was to control wizards who weren't going to willingly join him while also causing Muggles to end themselves in horrific ways to spread a wave of fear to the public. Mulciber was among the Death Eaters given the job to cast the Imperius Curse on wizards in order to force them into doing Voldemort's bidding.

He became a specialist in this as Mulciber ultimately controlled so many people that no one could be certain if their friends and family members were Imperiused as well. Mulciber also carried out Muggle slaying during this time by making the Imperiused victims either take each other out or take their own lives in creative ways.

Antonin Dolohov - Brutally Took Out Fabian and Gideon Prewett During The First Wizarding War

As one of the strongest dark wizards ever, Antonin Dolohov was a top-level Death Eater. He was chiefly an expert in torturing and killing Muggles, a job he thoroughly enjoyed. However, he was pulled in for a special assignment of taking down the best members of the Order of the Phoenix.

Dolohov assembled a team of similarly powerful Death Eaters to ambush the Prewett brothers, who had proven to be a particular thorn in Voldemort's path to supremacy. Despite the brothers putting up a last stand, Dolohov and his party were successful in claiming their enemies' lives. Out of spite for making the task difficult, Dolohov ensured that the Prewett's final moments were brutal by ending them on very painful terms.
