A lot of work goes into the worldbuilding of historical and fantasy properties, as it's one of the most important aspects of these movies and shows. You need to believe the world in order to drop in as an audience member, and a small thing like a random water bottle or car in the background can really take you out of the moment. Some of the biggest properties in history have made these mistakes. And unfortunately for them, in this modern internet age, it was noticed.

From forgotten water bottles to 18th-century wristwatches, here are a few of the more notable film and television gaffs.

The final season of Game of Thrones was fraught with controversy for a number of reasons, but none were as humorous as the rogue Starbucks cup. The first episode of the season, "Winterfell," happened to feature a Starbucks cup at a dinner scene in the Great Hall.

The episode premiered with this glaring mistake, but subsequent releases of the show have had the cup digitally removed

Although Braveheart is an Oscar-winning historical drama, it's far from historically accurate. And while there is a lot of misinformation in the movie, one of the most undeniable mistakes is the accidental inclusion of a white car during one of the film's fighting scenes.

You can see the car near the bottom left corner of the frame, right at the horizon line, and it's only visible for a second or two. Filmmakers really should have set up a designated parking lot that was far away from the front line.

PBS's Downton Abbey is one of the channel's most popular shows ever, largely due to the wonderful portrayal of early 20th-century British aristocracy. While the show tries to be accurate to the time, there was one major mistake that suggests a possible time traveler on the premises.

In one portrait, there is clearly an empty plastic water bottle sitting on the mantel.

Gladiator is listed (or ranked) 4 on the list Modern Objects That Wound Up In Non-Modern Movies And TV Shows

Gladiator is another historical drama that was an awards-season darling thanks to a compelling story that still holds up today. Well, except for one particular scene.

There's a moment when a speeding chariot falls, and you can clearly see a hydraulic tank of some sort hidden in the back.
