Small details about "Encanto" that were a bit magical.
Fans of the movie Encanto love the music, the characters, and the story, but super fans who have watched the animated feature again and again are sharing the small, almost hidden details that the filmmakers got right. From the incredibly accurate clothing to tiny gestures made by the characters, here are a few details the filmmakers of Encanto completely nailed.
In Encanto (2021), the multicoloured water was inspired by a real place in Colombia...the Caño Cristales river. The river is commonly called the "River of Five Colors" or the "Liquid Rainbow," and is noted for its striking colors.
There are so many little cultural details in #Encanto. When Mirabel told Antonio to open her present for him, she pointed to it with her lips. It was so brief, but husband and I squealed. The only person we’ve ever seen point with their lips is my Colombian sister-in-law. ❤️
There's a part in Encanto where Mirabel uses her lips to "point" at the gift box for Antonio to tell him to open it — and it reminded me so much of my grandpa.
He used to use his lips to point to things all the time. I just thought it was a neat detail.
Though the literal meaning is "Wednesday," the term is a play in a popular (and inappropriate) phrase. Mirabel’s father Agustin uses it as a deliberate mispronunciation of a popular swear word.
En Encanto, Agustín says "miércoles" instead of "mierda" 😂
Mi parte favorita de Encanto es cuando el papá de Mirabel dice “miércoles” al ver que Dolores escuchó todo el chambre de la visión de Bruno. pic.twitter.com/e2cWOIS2nV
