Rumors about Chilling Adventures of Sabrina are flying through the air like broomsticks. The 2017 launch of Riverdale got fans interested in the idea of a Sabrina series, and then executive producer Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa announced the supernatural TV show would be based on the existing Archie Comics universe.
Aside from giving small hints, Aguirre-Sacasa and the rest of the Chilling Adventures of Sabrina cast remain tight-lipped about what's in store for viewers, so little is known about the upcoming Netflix adaptation. Kiernan Shipka plays the titular character, but how much of the horror from the comic will transfer to the television series? And is Salem the Cat going to make an appearance? Here's everything the producers have revealed.
Netflix Released The Second Trailer In October
On October 3, Netflix released a second trailer for the 2018 series. The trailer teases some of the darker aspects of the series, like Sabrina's dark baptism and what looks like some sort of resurrection ritual in the woods.
Sabrina's aunts, Hilda and Zelda Spellman, urge her to sign the book and officially become a Bride of Satan. Meanwhile, the teenage witch's favorite teacher, Mary Wardell, gets possessed by the Devil's handmaiden, becoming the destructive Madame Satan.
The First Trailer Came Out In September 2018
On September 13, 2018, Netflix dropped the first trailer for Chilling Adventures of Sabrina, and it features much darker tones than its TGIF Melissa Joan Hart-led counterpart. The trailer shows Sabrina (Kiernan Shipka of Mad Men fame) preparing to celebrate her 16th birthday. For potential witches, this is a big deal - she has to decide whether or not she wants to become a full-fledged Bride of Satan and embrace her witchy powers, or if she wants to abandon that path and remain mortal with boyfriend Harvey Kinkle.
Of course, the decision isn't clear-cut, as her favorite teacher, Mary Wardell, becomes possessed by the Devil's handmaiden and becomes Madame Satan - a spirit hellbent on destroying Sabrina's life.
The Teaser Poster Dropped In July 2018
Ahead of announcing the official date of the premiere, executive producer Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa released the teaser poster for Chilling Adventures of Sabrina on Twitter in July 2018. The image features a blonde bob, red lips, and a cat silhouette, succinctly summing up the effortless cool of the modern Archie Comics adaptations.
The retro vibe of the teaser poster hints the series might take place in the past, but Riverdale has a distinctly '50s meets modern-day vibe, so it's hard to tell the time period in which the show might be set.

The team released a series of Sabrina lookalikes, each wearing the signature blonde bob and a black satin letterman jacket with red accents.
The released teaser's dark color scheme hints at the ominous tone of the upcoming series.
