He has stated in several interviews that he no longer considers himself to be Mormon.

Jewel's family stopped attending The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints when she was seven years old. Panic! at the Disco musician Brendon Urie was raised in a Mormon family. He later left the church and has said that music is his religion.
