The Tomorrowland attraction debuted at Disneyland on July 2, 1967. A gentle ride that took guests on a leisure tour of the park, the vehicle moved its last group of people on August 21, 1995.
Opening on June 23, 1956, this gondola lift attraction took guests sky high from Fantasyland to Tomorrowland, through the Matterhorn Bobsleds. After almost 40 years, the skyway transit was officially closed on November 9, 1994.
Before Nemo and his gang took it over, the original Submarine Voyage featured seadragons, mermaids, and sunkern treasure galore. Original opened in June 14, 1959, the sub ride took guests under the sea for almost 40 years.
Carousel of Progress
Originally debuted at the 1965 New York World’s Fair, the Carousel of Progress would later open in Tomorrowland on July 2, 1967. It was eventually moved to Disney World on Sept. 9, 1973.
"Have I reached the universe of the molecule?" Opening on August 5, 1967 in Tomorrowland, this science-based attraction would "shrink" guests to the size of molecule. The ride closed in 1985.
Rainbow Caverns Mine Train
The little train took you through the small mining town of Rainbow Ridge. Opening in 1956, it was redesigned to become the Mine Train Through Nature's Wonderland before it closed in 1977.
Motor Boat Cruise
The Motor Boat Cruise was a boat version of Autopia that originally opened in 1955. The attraction was rebranded the Motor Boat Cruise to Gummi Glen before the ride was retired in 1993.
The Tomorrowland attraction debuted in 1961 as a type of futuristic bumper car. Unfortunately, technical issues coupled with the ride's low capacity for loading guests contributed to its demise in 1966.
After the Carousel of Progress left Tomorrowland, this bicentennial-themed tribute to American music entertained guests from 1974 to 1988. The rotating show featured Sam the Eagle, voiced by Burl Ives.
Pack Mules Through Nature’s Wonderland
Take a slow, lumbering ride on a malodorus mule in the hot, summer sun. Opening on June 10, 1960, the mule ride lasted 13 years before it was decided to pack it in.
Mike Fink Keel Boats
Debuting on Christmas 1955, the adorable little boats took guests up and down the Rivers of America for almost 40 years.
The pride and joy of Tomorrowland originally opened in 1956. Astro-Jets was the first version of the "circling jets" attractions, which include the Rocket Jets and the current Astro Orbitor.
Rainbow Mountain Stage Coaches
Starting from the Rivers of America, the stagecoach ride in Disneyland provided families a unique chance to see Disney's vision of the Old West. The attraction closed in 1959 and was replaced by the Mine Train.
The Jolly Trolley
The Jolly Trolley was an attraction that opened in Mickey’s Toontown at Disneyland on January 24, 1993. Because of inconvience to large crowds, the ride was retired in 2011.
The Rocket Rods replaced the beloved PeopleMover in 1998 only to offer guests long lines and constant breakdowns. Technical issues plagued the ride from the start, and after two years, it was official closed.
