Former NFL player Darren Sharper was sentenced to eighteen years in prison for drugging and raping multiple women in four states in 2016.
Sharper's football career included stints with the Green Bay Packers and the New Orleans Saints.
Renowned boxer Mike Tyson dealt with a rape charge during the peak of his career in 1991. Tyson was convicted of raping the then-18-year-old Miss Black Rhode Island Desiree Washington and sentenced to six years in prison plus four years probation. He served three years and was released in 1995.
Thomas "Hollywood" Henderson enjoyed a six-year career in the National Football League in the 1980s. During this time, he was accused of sexual assault. He pleaded no contest, served about two years in prison and went to rehab.
In the years since, Henderson won the Texas Lotto for $28 million. He used the money to start a charity to help prevent others from making the same mistakes he did.
'Fast' Eddie Johnson
Former NBA player "Fast Eddie" Johnson played 10 seasons in the league. He went on to rack up no less than 100 arrests in the years since his retirement, including from a 2006 incident in which he was charged with burglary, sexual battery, rape and the molestation of an eight-year-old girl. He lives out his days at the Santa Rosa Correctional Institution.
Longtime Major League Baseball player Melvin Hall, Jr. played professional baseball from 1981 to 1996 when he retired as a member of the San Francisco Giants. Soon after his retirement, several accusations of rape were leveled at Hall, many of the victims being minors.
He was convicted of raping a twelve year old girl and sentenced to 45 years in prison. Hall will not be eligible for parole until 2031.
Mark "Gator" Rogowski saw success on the professional skateboarding circuit in the 1980s. This all came to a halt in 1991 when, after a period of alcoholism, he murdered his friend, Jessica Bergsten. Rogowski. He her before suffocating her and taking her body to the desert, where he buried her in a shallow grave.
He was sentenced to 31 years in prison.
