Though nearly all of the Ramones' songs were credited equally to all the band members, Dee Dee was the band's most prolific lyricist and songwriter, writing many of the band's most well-known songs, such as "53rd & 3rd", "Commando", "Rockaway Beach", and "Poison Heart". Jan-Sören Eckert, born 4 December 1965 in Quickborn, Germany, is a heavy metal bass guitarist who has previously played with Charon, Mydra,Rockship/Band with Inga Rumpf, Eddi Filip, Dirk Erchinger, Alex Conti;Das Auge Gottes/Band; Running Wild and Masterplan and is currently playing for the melodic power metal band Iron Savior. During his time in Iron Savior, Jan also made minor contributions as a vocalist. He left the band in 2002 to join the new supergroup formed in by former Helloween members Roland Grapow and Uli Kusch, with Norwegian vocalist Jørn Lande, called Masterplan. Joining Metallica in 1986 after Cliff Burton's death, Newsted remained a member until 2001, making him the band's longest-serving bassist. After he left Metallica, he continued with his project Echobrain, played with Ozzy Osbourne and joined heavy metal band Voivod.
