Éamon de Valera was one of the dominant political figures in twentieth century Ireland. His political career spanned over half a century, from 1917 to 1973; he served multiple terms as head of government and head of state. He also led the introduction of the Constitution of Ireland. De Valera was a leader of Ireland's struggle for independence from the United Kingdom in the War of Independence and of the anti-Treaty opposition in the ensuing Irish Civil War. Only in his forties, he is one of the youngest presenters on Raidió Teilifís Éireann, and is the one who earns the most. Current host of long-running TV chat programme The Late Late Show and a weekday morning radio show called Tubridy, Tubridy was a pioneering member of the Twitterati before he departed in August 2011. Tubridy previously presented RTÉ 2fm breakfast radio show The Full Irish, which at its end was the second most popular radio programme in Ireland.
