  • Alfred H. Peet (March 10, 1920 – August 29, 2007) was a Dutch-American entrepreneur and the founder of Peet's Coffee & Tea in Berkeley, California, in 1966. He is most famous for introducing custom coffee roasting to the United States using top quality beans at a time when Americans were typically drinking coffee brewed from beans freeze-dried in a can. Peet taught his style of roasting beans to Jerry Baldwin, Zev Siegl and Gordon Bowker, who took the technique to Seattle and founded Starbucks in 1971. Peet is widely credited with starting the specialty coffee revolution in the US. Among coffee historians, Peet has been called "the Dutchman who taught America how to drink coffee."

  • Ben Woldring (born February 6, 1985 in Groningen ) is a Dutch internet entrepreneur and millionaire from Usquert who first rose to fame in the fall of 1998 when, for a school assignment, he made a website where consumers could compare prices for mobile phone services. As a result, he appeared on television programmes like Kassa and the Jeugdjournaal.   • Johannes Gerardus Hendrikus "Hans" Janmaat (3 November 1934 – 9 June 2002) was a Dutch politician of the Centre Party (CP) and later founder of the Centre Democrats (CD) party and businessman.
