A list of guitarists who play with their left hands. Left handed people who want to play guitar or bass have a few options in how to go about it. They can learn to play with their right hand, play an instrument designed specifically for leftys, play a right-handed instrument that has been "reversed" for left-handed use or turn a right-handed guitar upside-down and learn the instrument backwards.

Several notable, even super-famous guitarists have made each of this decisions, with varying results. Paul McCartney famously improved in his guitar playing only after figuring out that he could reverse the strings on his standard instrument. Jimi Hendrix was forbidden to play with his left hand and so had no choice but to similarly restring his instruments.

This list collects notable guitarists throughout rock history who have played guitar left-handed, and some helpful notes on how to learn to play left-handed and pursue your craft.
