Lionel Messi

Lionel Andrés Messi Cuccittini (Spanish pronunciation: [ljoˈnel anˈdɾez ˈmesi] (listen); born 24 June 1987) is an Argentine professional footballer who plays as a forward and captains both Spanish club Barcelona and the Argentina national team. Often considered the best player in the world and widely regarded as one of the greatest players of all time, Messi has a record-tying five Ballon d'Or awards, four of which he won consecutively, and a record six European Golden Shoes. He has spent his entire professional career with Barcelona, where he has won a club-record 34 trophies, including ten La Liga titles, four UEFA Champions League titles and six Copas del Rey. A prolific goalscorer and a creative playmaker, Messi holds the records for most goals in La Liga (419), a La Liga and European league season (50), most hat-tricks in the UEFA Champions League (8), and most assists in La Liga (169) and the Copa América (12). He has scored 698 senior career goals for club and country.
Born and raised in central Argentina, Messi was diagnosed with a growth hormone deficiency as a child. At age 13, he relocated to Spain to join Barcelona, who agreed to pay for his medical treatment. After a fast progression through Barcelona's youth academy, Messi made his competitive debut aged 17 in October 2004. Despite being injury-prone during his early career, he established himself as an integral player for the club within the next three years, finishing 2007 as a finalist for both the Ballon d'Or and FIFA World Player of the Year award, a feat he repeated the following year. His first uninterrupted season was 2008–09, during which he helped Barcelona achieve the first treble in Spanish football. At 22 years old, Messi won the 2009 Ballon d'Or and the 2009 FIFA World Player of the Year award by record voting margins. Three successful seasons followed, with Messi winning three consecutive FIFA Ballons d'Or, including an unprecedented fourth. During the 2011–12 season, he set the La Liga and European records for most goals scored in a single season, while establishing himself as Barcelona's all-time top scorer in official competitions in March 2012. The following two seasons, Messi finished twice second for the Ballon d'Or behind Cristiano Ronaldo, his perceived career rival. Messi regained his best form during the 2014–15 campaign, breaking the all-time goalscoring records in both La Liga and the Champions League in November 2014, and leading Barcelona to a historic second treble.
An Argentine international, Messi is his country's all-time leading goalscorer. At youth level, he won the 2005 FIFA World Youth Championship, finishing the tournament with both the Golden Ball and Golden Shoe, and an Olympic gold medal at the 2008 Summer Olympics. His style of play as a diminutive, left-footed dribbler drew comparisons with his compatriot Diego Maradona, who described Messi as his successor. After his senior debut in August 2005, Messi became the youngest Argentine to play and score in a FIFA World Cup during the 2006 edition, and reached the final of the 2007 Copa América, where he was named young player of the tournament. According to France Football, Messi was the world's highest-paid footballer for five years out of six between 2009 and 2014, and was ranked the world's highest-paid athlete by Forbes in 2019. He was among Time's 100 most influential people in the world in 2011 and 2012. One of the most famous athletes in the world, Messi has been sponsored by sportswear company Adidas since 2006 and has established himself as their leading brand endorser.

Diego Maradona

Diego Armando Maradona (30 October 1960 – 25 November 2020) was an Argentine retired professional footballer. He was widely regarded as one of the greatest football players of all time. He was one of the two joint winners of the FIFA Player of the 20th Century award. Maradona's vision, passing, ball control and dribbling skills were combined with his small stature (1.65 m or 5 ft 5 in), which gave him a low center of gravity allowing him to maneuver better than most other football players; he would often dribble past multiple opposing players on a run. His presence and leadership on the field had a great effect on his team's general performance, while he would often be singled out by the opposition.

Juan Martín del Potro

Juan Martín del Potro Lucas (Spanish pronunciation: [xwan maɾˈtin del ˈpotɾo]) (born 23 September 1988), nicknamed Delpo (IPA: [ˈdelpo]), is an Argentine professional tennis player who is currently ranked world No. 16 in men's singles by the Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP).His biggest achievement has been winning the 2009 US Open, defeating Rafael Nadal in the semifinal and 5-time defending champion Roger Federer in the final. He was the first to defeat both Federer and Nadal during the same major and was the only man outside the Big Four to win a major between the 2005 French Open and the 2013 US Open, a span of 35 tournaments. He is also the second Argentine and the fifth-youngest man to win the US Open in the Open Era. Other career highlights include reaching the 2018 US Open final, winning the bronze medal in men's singles at the 2012 London Olympics, the silver medal at the 2016 Rio Olympics, the Indian Wells Masters in 2018, and being part of his country's successful Davis Cup team; but his career has also been hampered by a succession of wrist injuries.
Del Potro achieved a top-10 ranking by the Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP) for the first time on 6 October 2008. In January 2010, he reached a ranking of world No. 4, after which del Potro had to withdraw from most of the tournaments in 2010 due to a right wrist injury. He returned in 2011 and was back to world No. 4 in January 2014 but had to withdraw from competition due to another wrist injury, but this time to his left wrist.
He again returned to the ATP World Tour in February 2016 after a long injury-induced absence. At the 2016 Summer Olympics he discovered a huge vein of form, defeating World No. 1 Novak Djokovic in straight sets in the first round and No. 3 Rafael Nadal in the semi-finals, claiming silver after falling in the final to No. 2 Andy Murray in four attritional sets. Only weeks later, Murray and del Potro met again in the Davis Cup semi-final in Glasgow, with del Potro emerging victorious in five sets. He then led Argentina to their first ever Davis Cup victory by defeating Croatia's Marin Čilić in the final in Zagreb from two sets down. He reached his first major semi-final since 2013 by defeating Roger Federer in the quarter-finals of the 2017 US Open. In 2018, he won his first Masters 1000 title at the Indian Wells Masters, defeating defending champion and World No. 1 Roger Federer in the final. After reaching the semi-finals of the 2018 French Open, he again matched his career high of No. 4. Finally, in August, he achieved the World No. 3 ranking for the very first time. At the 2018 US Open, he reached his second Grand Slam final.
Having started playing tennis at the age of seven, del Potro won his first senior match (ITF level) in 2004 at the age of 15.  At the start of the 2006 season, at 17 years of age he notched his first ATP Tour match win against world No. 117, Albert Portas.  In 2008, he became the first player in ATP history to win his first four career titles in as many tournaments. He also completed the second-longest winning streak in 2008, and the second longest by a teenager in the Open Era with his winning sequence spanning 23 matches over five tournaments, falling just one short of Rafael Nadal.

Carlos Monzón

Carlos Roque Monzón Ledesma (Santa Fe, Argentina; 7 August 1942 – Santa Fe, Argentina; 8 January 1995) nicknamed Escopeta (Shotgun in Spanish) was an Argentine professional boxer who held the undisputed world middleweight championship for 7 years. He successfully defended his title 14 times and is widely regarded as not only one of the best middleweights in history but also one of the greatest boxers of all time pound-for-pound. Known for his speed, punching power and relentless work rate, Monzon ended his career with a record of 87-3-9 with 59 knockouts, each one of his losses were early in his career and were avenged. Inducted into the International Boxing Hall of Fame in 1990, he was chosen by The Ring magazine in 2002 as the 11th greatest fighter of the last 80 years and voted him as the best middleweight title holders of the last 50 years in 2011. As of January 2018, Monzón holds the 2nd longest unified championship reign in middleweight history at 9 consecutive defenses.
Argentines adored Monzon throughout his career. His glamorous and violent life was avidly followed both by the media and Argentine people. He was, however, accused many times of domestic violence by his two wives and many mistresses, and of beating paparazzi. Charged with killing his wife Alicia Muñiz in Mar del Plata in 1988, the former champion was sentenced to 11 years in jail. He died in a January 1995 car crash during a weekend furlough.

Juan Martín Fernández Lobbe

Juan Martín Fernández Lobbe (born 19 November 1981 in Buenos Aires) is an Argentine rugby union footballer. He currently plays for Toulon in the French Top 14, having moved from Sale Sharks in England's Guinness Premiership. He previously played for Liceo Naval. He usually plays in the back row.
He made his debut for the Sale Sharks in 2006 against the Leicester Tigers. His debut season for the Sharks was the 2006–07 Guinness Premiership. He was Sale's first XV captain. He made his international debut for Argentina in 2004 against Uruguay. He was a part of the Pumas team that defeated Wales at home in a two Test series, scoring a try in one game.
Fernández Lobbe featured in the side that defeated England at Twickenham in November 2006 as well as back to back victories over Ireland the following year. And he was an integral part of the Los Pumas team in their 2007 Rugby World Cup campaign which succeeded in gaining Argentina's highest World Cup finish of third place. He played in every game en route to the semi-final which they lost to the eventual champions South Africa.
He led his country for the first time in November 2008, a game which they lost at the hands of Ireland. However Fernández Lobbe retained the captaincy in the absence of Felipe Contepomi and defeated England in front of their home crowd in 2009.
He was part of the Argentine squad at the 2011 Rugby World Cup in New Zealand and 2015 Rugby World Cup in England.
He was the captain of the Pumas, a position he took over after succeeding Felipe Contepomi. As captain, he played every game of 2012 Rugby Championship and four during the 2013 Rugby Championship. He also played in  the 2014 and 2015 Rugby Championships.
Fernández Lobbe won the French Top 14 in 2014 and the Heineken Cup in 2013 and 2014 with Toulon.

Manu Ginóbili

Emanuel David Ginóbili (English: , Spanish: [ˈmanu ʃiˈnoβili]; born 28 July 1977) is an Argentine retired professional basketball player. Over a 23-season professional career, he became one of only two players to have won a EuroLeague title, an NBA championship, and an Olympic gold medal. A four-time NBA champion, Ginóbili was a member of the San Antonio Spurs for his entire NBA career. Along with Spurs teammates Tim Duncan and Tony Parker, he was known as one of the "Big Three".
Ginóbili comes from a family of professional basketball players. He spent the early part of his career in Argentina and Italy, where he holds dual citizenship, and won several individual and team honors. His stint with Italian club Kinder Bologna was particularly successful; he won two Italian League MVP awards, the EuroLeague Finals MVP and the 2001 EuroLeague championship and Triple Crown. Selected as the 57th overall pick in the 1999 NBA draft, Ginóbili joined the Spurs in 2002, and soon became a key player for the team. In addition to his four NBA championships, Ginóbili was named an All-Star in 2005 and 2011, and has been selected twice for the All-NBA Team. In 2007–08, he was named the NBA Sixth Man of the Year. Ginóbili announced his retirement on 27 August 2018.

Luis Scola

Luis Alberto Scola Balvoa (born April 30, 1980) is an Argentine professional basketball player for the Shanghai Sharks of the Chinese Basketball Association (CBA). A three-time All-EuroLeague selection with Tau Ceramica, he signed with the Houston Rockets in 2007, and was voted to the NBA All-Rookie First Team. Later on, he played for the Phoenix Suns, Indiana Pacers, Toronto Raptors and Brooklyn Nets.
Scola has been a regular member of the Argentina national team since 1999 and won an Olympic gold medal in 2004, and a bronze medal in the 2008 Summer Olympics. These successes enabled him to become Argentina's flag bearer at the 2016 Summer Olympics.

Carlos Delfino

Carlos Francisco Delfino (born August 29, 1982) is an Argentine-Italian professional basketball player who last played for Lavoropiù Bologna of the Serie A2 second tier national league. He holds dual citizenship in both Italy and Argentina. Standing at 1.98 m (6 ft 6 in), he plays at the small forward and shooting guard positions. He is also noted for his defense and three point shooting skills.

Carlos Tevez

Carlos Alberto Tevez (American Spanish: [ˈkaɾlos ˈteβes]; born 5 February 1984) is an Argentine professional footballer who plays as a forward for Boca Juniors and the Argentina national team. His energy, skill and goalscoring rate have made him an indispensable player for his club sides throughout his career, in the eyes of fellow players and media alike.Tevez began his career with Boca Juniors, winning the Copa Libertadores and Intercontinental Cup in 2003 before moving to Corinthians, where he won the Brasileiro. In 2006, he moved to West Ham United, helping the team remain in the Premier League in his only season. Tevez's prolonged transfers to West Ham and later Manchester United were plagued by issues regarding third-party ownership by Media Sports Investment, and their resulting sagas paved changes to both Premier League and FIFA regulations.Tevez transferred to Manchester United in 2007, and in his two years there won several trophies, including two Premier League titles and the UEFA Champions League. In 2009, he joined Manchester City for £47 million, becoming the first player to move between the two rival clubs since Terry Cooke in 1999. Despite missing four months of the 2011–12 season following a dispute, Tevez returned to help Manchester City win their first league title in 44 years. In 2013, he joined Juventus for £12 million, finishing as the team's top goalscorer and winning the Scudetto in his first season. After winning a domestic double and reaching the Champions League final in his second season, he returned to Boca Juniors in June 2015, where he won another domestic double, becoming the first footballer to win two domestic league and cup doubles in one calendar year. In December 2016, he joined Chinese club Shanghai Shenhua, in a deal which made him one of the highest-paid footballers in the world; he returned to Boca for a third spell in 2018.
Since his debut for Argentina in 2005, Tevez has over 75 caps. A gold medal winner at the 2004 Olympics, he also played at two FIFA World Cups, a FIFA Confederations Cup and four Copa América tournaments.

Sergio Agüero

Sergio Leonel Agüero del Castillo (Spanish pronunciation: [ˈseɾxjo le.oˈnel aˈɣweɾo]; born 2 June 1988) is an Argentine professional footballer who plays as a striker for Premier League club Manchester City and the Argentine national team.
Agüero began his career at Independiente. On 5 July 2003, he became the youngest player to play in the Argentine Primera División on his debut at 15 years and 35 days, breaking the record previously established by Diego Maradona in 1976. In 2006, he moved to Europe to play for La Liga side Atlético Madrid, for a transfer fee of €23 million and made a name for himself, attracting attention from Europe's top clubs by scoring 101 goals in 234 appearances while winning the UEFA Europa League and the UEFA Super Cup in 2010.
Agüero moved to Premier League club Manchester City in July 2011 for an undisclosed fee thought to be in the region of £35 million. On the last day of his debut season with the club, he scored a 94th-minute winner against Queens Park Rangers that earned City its first league title in 44 years. At the end of the 2015–16 season, of players who had played at least two seasons in the Premier League, Agüero had the highest goals per minute ratio in the history of the competition since its formation in 1992, averaging a goal every 106 minutes, ahead of Thierry Henry. He also holds the joint-record for the most goals scored in a single Premier League match – five – and the fastest to do so, in 23 minutes and 34 seconds of match time. In November 2017, Agüero became Manchester City's all-time highest goal-scorer, scoring his 178th City goal against Napoli. Agüero is currently the 6th highest goalscorer in Premier League history, and the highest non-European scorer in the history of the Premier League, with 168 goals in the division.
At the international level, Agüero represented the Argentina under-20 team at the FIFA U-20 World Cup in 2005 and in 2007, winning both tournaments. He played at the 2008 Beijing Olympics, scoring two goals in the 3–0 semi-final win against Brazil as Argentina went on to win the gold medal. Agüero was selected to represent the senior team in the 2010 FIFA World Cup, the 2011 Copa América, the 2014 FIFA World Cup, the 2015 Copa América, and the Copa América Centenario, reaching the finals of the latter three tournaments. He also participated in the 2018 FIFA World Cup, where he scored his first and second World Cup goals for Argentina, and the 2019 Copa América, where he won a bronze medal.
He wears "Kun" on his shirt, a childhood nickname based on the title character from the cartoon Kum-Kum.

Mario Kempes

Mario Alberto Kempes Chiodi (Spanish pronunciation: [ˈmaɾjo alˈβeɾto ˈkempes ˈtʃjoði]; born 15 July 1954 in Bell Ville, Córdoba) is a retired Argentine footballer who played as a striker. His father, Mario, also a footballer, inspired him to play from a young age. At the age of seven he began playing with a junior team and at fourteen, he joined the Talleres reserves. A prolific goalscorer, at club level he is best known for playing for Valencia, finishing as La Liga's top goalscorer twice, and amassing 116 goals in 184 league games for the club.
At international level, Kempes was the focal point of Argentina's 1978 World Cup win where he scored twice in the final, and received the Golden Boot as top goalscorer. He also won the Golden Ball for the player of the tournament, making him one of only three players to have won all three awards at a single World Cup, along with Garrincha in 1962, and Paolo Rossi in 1982.
Kempes won South American Footballer of the Year, Onze d'Or European footballer of the Year, and World Cup Golden Ball in 1978. In 2004, he was named as one of the Top 125 greatest living footballers as part of FIFA's 100th anniversary celebration.

Juan Martín Hernández

Juan Martín Hernández (born August 7, 1982 in Buenos Aires) is a retired Argentine rugby union player. A mainstay of the Argentina national team The Pumas. He played for the club Toulon in the French Top 14 competition. His 2010 move to Racing brought him back to the city where he had begun his professional career in 2003 with Stade Français. He has also played in the South African Currie Cup with the  Sharks, and was slated to play with the Sharks in Super Rugby in 2010, but suffered a back injury that knocked him out of the Super Rugby season. Hernández is a "utility back" capable of playing at fly-half, centre, or fullback, though he generally prefers fly-half.
Hernández made his test debut for Los Pumas against Paraguay on April 2003. Since then he has accumulated over 50 caps for his national team. He retired in April 2018 following a knee injury.

Juan Manuel Leguizamón

Juan Manuel Leguizamón (born 6 June 1983) is an Argentine rugby union footballer. He plays as a flanker or as a number eight. Leguizamón plays for the Jaguares, the Argentine side which made its debut in Super Rugby for the 2016 season.
He first played for Santiago Lawn Tennis Club, playing for SIC in 2003/04, where he was National Champion. He has played for London Irish (2005/06-2007/08), in England, and Stade Français (2008/09-2010/11), in France. He plays for Lyon OU in the Top 14 and Pro D2, since 2011/12.
He has also played for the Argentina. He made his Los Pumas debut in April 2005 in a match against Japan, won 68 to 36 in Buenos Aires. On his debut, he also scored his first try for Argentina. He earned another two caps in July in a Test series against Italy, and then went on to play in three tests matches during November; against South Africa, and coming on as a replacement during the Scotland and Italy fixtures. The following year he played in two tests during the June fixtures at home to Wales and the All Blacks. He also played in games during Argentina's qualification for the 2007 Rugby World Cup and before the quarter finals, Leguizamón dominated the World Cup group stage. This was emphasised with his monstrous work rate during the first game of the tournament against the hosts France. His yellow boots make him easy to spot.Leguizamón was part of Argentine squad for the 2011 Rugby World Cup in New Zealand and 2015 Rugby World Cup in England.
He is part of the national squad that competes in the Rugby Championship.

Juan José Imhoff is an Argentine rugby union footballer who plays as a wing and fullback. He was part of the Pampas XV at the 2011 Vodacom Cup in South Africa and was also part of the Argentine squad at the 2011 Rugby World Cup. He currently plays for Racing Métro 92 in the Top 14.

Lucas González Amorosino

Lucas González Amorosino (born 2 November 1985) is an Argentine rugby union player who plays fullback or wing.
He was part of the Argentina sevens team before joining Leicester in 2009 following his full international début against England that summer.

Andrés Nocioni

Andrés Marcelo Nocioni (born November 30, 1979) is an Argentine-Italian retired professional basketball player. Early in his career he played as a small forward, but spent the latter years of his career as a power forward. He was a two-time All-EuroLeague selection before spending eight seasons in the National Basketball Association (NBA), from 2004 to 2012. Nocioni won a EuroLeague title in 2015, earning the EuroLeague Final Four MVP Award in the process.
A regular member of the Argentine national team, Nocioni was a part of the team that won a gold medal at the 2004 Summer Olympics in Athens. He also helped the Argentine national team to win the bronze medal at the 2008 Summer Olympics and the silver medal at the 2002 FIBA World Championship in Indianapolis. His jersey number 13 was retired by the Argentinian Basketball Confederation.

Alfredo Di Stéfano

Alfredo Stéfano Di Stéfano Laulhé (Spanish pronunciation: [alˈfɾeðo ði esˈtefano]; 4 July 1926 – 7 July 2014) was an Argentine-Spanish professional footballer and coach. He is regarded as one of the best footballers of all time, and is best known for his achievements with Real Madrid, where he was instrumental in the club's domination of the European Cup and La Liga during the 1950s. Along with Francisco Gento and José María Zárraga, he was one of only three players to play a part in all five victories, scoring goals in each of the five finals. Di Stéfano played international football mostly for Spain after moving to Madrid, but he also played for Argentina and Colombia. 
Di Stéfano, nicknamed "Saeta rubia" ("Blond Arrow"), was a powerful, quick, skillful, and prolific forward, with great stamina, tactical versatility, creativity, and vision, who could also play almost anywhere on the pitch. He is currently the sixth highest scorer in the history of Spain's top division, and Real Madrid's third highest league goalscorer of all time, with 216 goals in 282 league matches between 1953 and 1964. He is Madrid's leading goalscorer in the history of El Clásico, alongside Cristiano Ronaldo.In November 2003, to celebrate UEFA's Jubilee, he was selected as the Golden Player of Spain by the Royal Spanish Football Federation as their most outstanding player of the past 50 years. In 2004, he was named by Pelé in the FIFA 100 list of the world's greatest living players (in September 2009, he said Di Stéfano was the best Argentinian player "ever"). He was voted fourth, behind Pelé, Diego Maradona, and Johan Cruyff, in a vote organized by France Football magazine which consulted their former Ballon d'Or winners to elect the Football Player of the Century.In 2008 Di Stefano was honoured by both UEFA and Real Madrid with a special Presidents award issued by FIFA at a ceremony in Madrid, where a statue was also unveiled. Then UEFA President Michel Platini called Di Stefano "a great amongst the greats" while contemporaries Eusébio and Just Fontaine suggested that he was "the most complete footballer in the history of the game".

Fabricio Oberto

Fabricio Raúl Jesús Oberto (American Spanish: [faˈβɾisjo oˈβeɾto]; born March 21, 1975) is an Argentine-Italian former professional basketball player. At 6 ft 10 in (2.08 m) and 256 pounds (116 kg), he played as a center. With the LNB club Atenas, in his native Argentina, Oberto began playing professionally in 1993, and later played overseas with teams in Spain and Greece. In 2005, Oberto signed with the San Antonio Spurs, a team of the American National Basketball Association, and won a championship with the Spurs in 2007. He is also a former member of the senior Argentina national basketball team.

Hernán Jorge Crespo (Spanish pronunciation: [eɾˈnaŋ ˈxoɾxe ˈkɾespo]; born 5 July 1975) is an Argentine professional football coach and former player who is the manager of Argentine Primera División club Banfield. A prolific striker, he has scored over 300 goals in a career spanning 19 years. At international level, Crespo scored 35 goals and is Argentina's fourth highest goalscorer behind only Sergio Agüero, Gabriel Batistuta and Lionel Messi. He played in three FIFA World Cups: 1998, 2002, 2006. At club level, Crespo was the world's most expensive player, when he was bought by Lazio from Parma in 2000 for €56 million (£35.5 million). He was top scorer in the 2000–01 Serie A with 26 goals, playing for Lazio.
Crespo's awards include three Serie A scudetti, a Copa Libertadores, a Premier League title and an Olympic Games silver medal. In 2004, he was named by Pelé in the FIFA 100 list of the world's greatest living players. Crespo never received a red card during his career.

Juan Ignacio Sánchez

Juan Ignacio Sánchez Brown, commonly known as Pepe Sánchez (born May 8, 1977), is a former Argentine-Spanish professional basketball player. He played at the point guard position. He was a part of Argentina's 2004 Olympic gold medal team. Pepe Sánchez (1.93 metres, 6 feet 4 inches tall) was the first Argentine to play in the NBA. He played two seasons in the NBA, playing in a total of 38 games with the Philadelphia 76ers (24 games), Atlanta Hawks (5 games), and the Detroit Pistons (9 games), averaging only 5 minutes per game. He also played with the Golden State Warriors, during the NBA preseason.

David Nalbandian

David Pablo Nalbandian (Spanish pronunciation: [daˈβið ˈpaβlo nalˈβandjan]; born 1 January 1982) is an Argentine retired professional tennis player who played on the ATP Tour from 2000 until his retirement in 2013. He reached a highest ranking in singles of world No. 3 in March 2006. Nalbandian was runner-up in the singles event at the 2002 Wimbledon Championships. During his career he won 11 singles titles, including the Tennis Masters Cup in 2005 and two Masters 1000 tournaments. Nalbandian is the only Argentine player in history who ever reached the semifinals or better at all four Grand Slam tournaments and reached the men's singles final at Wimbledon.He was a member of the Argentinian Davis Cup team who reached the finals of the World Group in 2006, 2008 and 2011. Nalbandian played right-handed with a two-handed backhand, which was known for being a devastating shot.Since his retirement, Nalbandian has taken up the sport of rally racing, and has competed in Rally Argentina.

Javier Zanetti

Javier Adelmar Zanetti (Spanish pronunciation: [xaˈβjeɾ saˈneti]; Italian: [dzaˈnetti]; born 10 August 1973) is an Argentine former professional footballer who played as a defender or midfielder.
He started his career in Argentina, first with Talleres, and then Banfield. From 1995 to 2014 he played for Italian club Inter Milan, and served as captain from 2001.With 1,114 official games played, he is seventh on the list of players in history with the most career appearances. He is also the foreign player with the most appearances in Serie A (615), and holds the fourth-most appearances in the league, behind only Paolo Maldini, Gianluigi Buffon and Francesco Totti. He is the most capped player in the history of Inter (858), and won 16 trophies with the club: five Scudetti, four Coppa Italia, four Supercoppa Italiana, one UEFA Cup, one Champions League and the FIFA Club World Cup. He is also the most capped player as captain in the Champions League (82).
With the Argentina national team he played in 143 games, a figure that makes him the second player with the most appearances in the history of La Albiceleste, having held the record from 2007 to 2018. With Argentina he reached the final of the Copa América in 2004 and 2007, and the Confederations Cup in 1995 and 2005.
Known for his versatility, he was adept on both the left and right wing, having played on both flanks as a full back. On retiring, the club retired his number 4 jersey and named him as its vice president. He has been named an ambassador for the SOS Children's Villages project in Argentina by FIFA, and in 2005 he received the Ambrogino d'Oro award from the city of Milan for his social initiatives. Zanetti is also a Global Ambassador for the Special Olympics.
