Brian Douglas Williams is an American journalist best known for his ten years as anchor and managing editor of NBC Nightly News, the evening news program of the NBC television network. Nine months after taking the position in December 2004, Williams anchored NBC coverage from New Orleans of Hurricane Katrina and its aftermath, and NBC News won a Peabody Award for Williams' and his colleagues' coverage of the story. Daniel James "Dan" White was a San Francisco supervisor who assassinated San Francisco Mayor George Moscone and Supervisor Harvey Milk, on Monday, November 27, 1978, at City Hall. In a controversial verdict that led to the coining of the legal slang "Twinkie defense," White was convicted of manslaughter rather than murder in the deaths of Milk and Moscone. White served five years of a seven-year prison sentence. Less than two years after his release, he returned to San Francisco and committed suicide. Sutter, a Colorado firefighter, and Rehn were married in a televised wedding on ABC on December 6, 2003. The miniseries was filmed at "The Lodge" luxury resort in Rancho Mirage, California.
