Who are the most influential people in history? Here's a good place to start. This is a list of every person who has ever been immortalized in a Google Doodle, in order from the very first to the most recent. The first Google Doodle appeared on on August 30, 1998, in honor of Burning Man, surprising visitors to the search engine homepage. It wasn't until 2001 that the very first real person was commemorated. In November of that year, a Google Doodle honored Claude Monet, artistically drawn in the style of the painter's famous water lilies. For more than a decade since, Google has celebrated artists, inventors, poets, musicians, activists, mathematicians, scientists, singers, architects, and hundreds of other people who have made positive contributions to the world as we know it. Every famous person who has been in a Google Doodle is listed in the order in which his or her Doodle appeared on the famous website, along with the date—or multiple dates, when applicable. While most of these cool and interesting people were honored on their birthdays, many others have been recognized on important anniversaries of their work. There is also a picture of each person's Google Doodle, and videos for important men and women like Freddie Mercury, Jules Verne, and Maya Angelou, whose Doodles were interactive.

Herbert D. Kleber, M.D., is an American psychiatrist and substance abuse researcher. From 1968 to 1989, he founded and headed the Drug Dependence Unit at Yale University, where he was Professor of Psychiatry. He then served for 2½ years as the Deputy Director for Demand Reduction at the Office of National Drug Control Policy in the White House. In 1992, Dr. Kleber, with his late wife, Dr. Marian Fischman, co-founded the Substance Abuse Division, one of the leading centers in the country, within the Department of Psychiatry at Columbia University. Henry "Harry" Winston Jerome, OC was a Canadian track and field runner. He was the grandson of John Howard, a railway porter who represented Canada in the 1912 Summer Olympics. Born in Prince Albert, Saskatchewan, he moved to North Vancouver at age 12. In 1970 he was made an Officer of the Order of Canada. Harry Jerome died of a brain aneurysm in December 1982, at the age of 42. Germán Genaro Cipriano Gómez Valdés Castillo, better known as Tin-Tan, was an actor, singer and comedian who was born in Mexico City but was raised and began his career in Ciudad Juarez, Chihuahua. He often displayed the pachuco dress and employed pachuco slang in many of his movies, some with his brothers Manuel "El Loco" Valdés and Ramón Valdés. He made the language of the Mexican American pachucos famous in Mexico.
