Arthur Miller was a famous playwright who was blacklisted during McCarthy's communist raid. This raid on Miller deemed unsuccessful, for Arthur put up a play on Broadway called The Crucible, which, metaphorically, mirrored his and other's blacklisting. He had also written several other hits, one of which was Death of a Salesman. He was even married to Marilyn Monroe for a time. Arthur Miller isn't the only writer on this list. Arthur Conan Doyle was the author of Sherlock Holmes. This fictional character has inspired movies and other feats in criminal fiction.
