Buddy Holly is certainly one of the most famous Buddys on this list. One of the singer-songwriters named Buddy, his hits include “That'll Be the Day,” “Peggy Sue,” and “Everyday.” He died in a plane crash, along with Ritchie Valens, The Big Bopper, and pilot Roger Peterson, on Feb. 3, 1959.
