Orlando Letelier was a Chilean politician and diplomat who later moved to Washington D.C. to represent the Chilean resistance. He was killed in a car bombing on September 21, 1976. Former Chilean Secret Police Chief, Manuel Contreras, was convicted of the crime, but he became an informant in order to receive a lesser sentence.
