    Russ Columbo was an American singer, violinist, and actor in the 1930s. His strange death was caused on September 2, 1934 when his friend accidentally lit a match near a loaded dueling pistol. The bullet hit Columbo in the head causing massive brain damage and ultimately killing him. Afraid to tell their mother about what happened, his siblings pretended he was still alive, forging letters and creating fake radio shows from his old records.
