18 Famous Phi Sigs

Founded in 1873 at what is now the University of Massachusetts in Amherst, Phi Sigma Kappa is all about brotherhood. The organization has approximately 90 chapters across North America and promotes scholarship and the development of character. It's no surprise that several famous actors, politicians and comedians are Phi Sigma Kappas.

Who is the most famous person who is a Phi Sig? Cheech Marin tops our list. The “Up in Smoke” funnyman joined the Phi Sigma Kappa Fraternity when he was attending Cal State Northridge in 1968. Marin later moved to Vancouver, to avoid the Vietnam draft, and that is where he met his friend and collaborator Tommy Chong. Red Skelton was given an honorary membership to the Phi Sigma Kappa Fraternity from NE Missouri State.

T. J. Miller joined the Phi Sigma Kappa Fraternity when he was attending George Washington University in 2003. Miller currently appears on the HBO sitcom “Silicon Valley.” Eric Cantor joined the Phi Sigma Kappa Fraternity when he was attending George Washington University in 1985. David Cook joined the Phi Sigma Kappa Fraternity when he was attending the University of Central Missouri in 2006.
